On August 21, 2024, I received the following update from Support Project Watermelon Families:
We are continuing to support families in Egypt who have been able to evacuate before the border closed in May. Currently, we support over 12 families at a minimum of $1,000 per month. Our funds are running low and we need to raise at least $500 per day in order to continue sustaining families in Egypt.
If we started to raise $1,000 per day consistently, we can safely secure financial support for Project Watermelon families taking refuge in Egypt’s ongoing healing and stabilization. Each family Project Watermelon supports receives:
Rent & utilities paid in full each month
Money for groceries and kitchen essentials
Additional funds for repurchasing clothing and other personal itemsIf we focus our efforts on at least sharing Project Watermelon’s donation link this week, I’m confident that the power of this community can raise the $5,000 or more to support families under harsh conditions in Egypt.
This work is made possible with your continued social and financial support.
Thank you to each of you who have caught the kindness bug thus far! Your donations, sharing of the campaign, and support empowers Project Watermelon to continue providing for vulnerable and deserving people.
I implore you to share our campaign and encourage others to donate their coffee budget this month.
If 25 people donate $20 each day, we’re guaranteed to help Gazan families in Egypt.
Thank you for reading and listening today.
Your part in this community has so much value.
In kindness,
The Project Watermelon Team
