Today is my 3rd-year anniversary as a travel agent and almost a year into this genocide in Gaza. It’s been my dream to travel, since I was a teenager when my family and I went to Florida during my junior year in high school. However, I didn’t think I could turn my dream into a business until a few years ago.
We are raising money for Kareem and his family to survive the war in Gaza and help him study medicine, and this is his story:
Hello, From Gaza. I am one of the world’s future doctor, Karim Abu Kwaik. This is still my dream despite the ongoing war that us making all my ambitions and dreams slowly fade. I was one of the top students at the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Azhar University. I got an excellent grade in the first year and was top student in Secondary school.
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing conflict , my father’s company was demolished by bombs, this was our only source of income. Additionally, university buildings were destroyed and hundreds of student’s dreams were shattered. Yet, we still have hope in humanity even though we are currently living without safe shelter, in harsh conditions, with no useful food, and no health care.
I have always been a lover of life, and since my childhood I have been trying to serve the whole world. Five years ago, I was an ambassador for the children of Palestine at the United Nations. I defended our right to education as children and succeeded in raising $40 million for UNRWA to complete the education of half a million refugee children in Palestine. Today, I am calling on the whole world. To help me complete my education, achieve my dreams, and become a doctor, serve the whole world, make a difference in this world, and provide what benefits them.
And now I am hoping that my voice is heard and that you will help me to continue my university studies outside Gaza. This will be a step to achieve my dreams, and to become a doctor, serve the world, and support my family.
