Here are some updates for Evacuate Fares and his family from Gaza since November 1, 2024, starting with the most recent:
December 13, 2024 (Fares):
“Winter in Gaza”
Winter used to be my favorite season. I like cool air and relief after hot summer and autumn. Everything seems a bit easier and it always feels great to feel refreshing cool air. Especially at night.
This is the second winter we are living through genocide. What used to feel as relief, now is just making hard life even harder. Most of our homes and buildings are destroyed by zionazis. They make sure to execute ethnic cleansing and destroy absolutely everything, so genocide survivors can’t go back. They think ruins and rubble will make Gazans simply leave. But they can’t be more wrong. We hold on to our sacred, beloved homeland, even to its ruins.
Winter in the scaffolding tent is absolutely devastating. Cold rain flooding, people freezing to death. Not enough warm clothes, shoes, nothing is left to protect survivors.
I hate winter now. I am one of the survivors living through hell on Earth, starving and freezing in my tent which is not protecting me much.
Will I live to see the end of this nightmare?
Please pray for us, pray for Gaza, my dear friends.

Hello friends,
I wanted to share an update on my dear friend, Fares. Thankfully, he is still alive and the situation in Gaza is unimaginably hell. The funds we’ve raised so far have gone toward covering skyrocketing costs for basic necessities, and sadly, evacuation is still not possible.
I’ve been in regular touch with Fares. He prefers to communicate through writing rather than being on camera, and due to limited access to the internet and eSIMs, I’m helping him post here when I can, at his request. His mental health has been deeply affected by the ongoing situation, and the financial support we’ve raised is absolutely crucial for his and his family’s survival right now.
If you’re unsure about supporting this cause or any cause, I understand that skepticism around charity and giving can be a real concern. To help provide context, here are a few resources that might shed light on Fares’ story and why your support means so much:

If you’re able, please continue to donate or share this campaign. Your support truly does make a difference for Fares and his family. Every bit helps, and together, we can show them they’re not alone in this.
Here’s the update so far:
— $43,251 raised (excluding the GoFundMe processing fee)
— 1,100 approx worldwide donors
— 71% of first stretch goal completeWith gratitude,
Britt
November 17, 2024 (Fares):
My dear friends, just to reach out to you all and let you know I am here. As my fellow Gazan, Bisan starts her every post :”I’m still alive”, so I start mine.
Every Gazan could start the same way. And we thank Allah we are still alive.
For us, Gazans, there is no change for better in sight. People are still being killed, famine is rampant, our despair is not leaving us. It’s so hard to keep the hope alive when you see no trace of light. Our tunnel is long and dark and as we travel through it , as we keep moving, keep walking, we die in the dark and the leave the ones still walking.
Dear Allah, please don’t forget us, as the world did. We only have you.
Until my next post, my dear friends…od course, if I am still alive.
Please keep us and Gaza in your prayers.

Some of us hadn’t heard from Fares for a while and were concerned. Then we heard from him. He says he’s fine and asked to share. Sharing what he recently posted for those not on social media:

My dear friends…
How to say I am ok if I am not ok?
You all know what I am going through and hoe am I feeling.
But I owe it to all of you, to all of you who love me, care for me and are worrying about me…to let you know I am still alive and I am doing my best to survive.
Please continue praying for me, for us all in Gaza.
Your friendship, love and care are my fuel.
I love you all, my dear friends.
