It’s been a long time since I donated to a fundraiser helping Palestinians and their families and today I donated £8 ($10.24 USD) to Evacuate Fares and his family from Gaza. Here’s the story behind this campaign:
Our hearts are in a thousand pieces. My very dear friend and his family are displaced in Rafah. They are originally from Khan Younis however they are now are seeking safe passage to Egypt ASAP .
Fares Abulebda is a civilian, a speech and language teacher a brother , an uncle , a son and a very very dear friend.

Dear beloved friends,
After 133 days of the destructive war on Gaza, during which we lost everything our homes, dreams, and friends – 133 days of resilience and conveying the image of the war to the entire world. Unfortunately, no one was able to stop this war. Therefore, I see it as my responsibility to help my family evacuate Gaza for a safe place. I have done my best to convey our suffering and resilience, but sadly, Gaza has become an uninhabitable place without the basic necessities of life.
After the world and the ICJ have failed to stop the ongoing war in Gaza, leaving us alone to face this genocide, I am reaching out with a difficult request for help in saving my family from this horrific war. It is very urgent as my mother is old and very sick, left without any medical care. My younger brother Tariq has serious kidney disease with no chance to get proper treatment. I cry blood every day seeing their health deteriorating without me being able to do anything. The only solution to save my family is to help us evacuate Gaza through the Egyptian border.
However, to leave Rafah crossing, we are required to pay $5000 per person.
I am reaching out to you to help us evacuate my family from Gaza before losing any of its members. I have no solution other than this. My family is the most precious thing I have in life, and my family has expressed that they do not want to leave Gaza alone.
We have very limited time to collect the money, so please share this everywhere. Show up if my life and my family’s life mean anything to you.
