Evacuate Fares and his family from Gaza (Update #5)

Yesterday, Marie B., one of the beneficiaries for Evacuate Fares and his family from Gaza, posted the following update:

DID YOU KNOW YOU’RE SAVING BABIES AND LITTLE CHILDREN UNDER 7 YEARS OLD?

Many may not be aware that Fares’ nieces and nephews are living through a genocide. Occasionally, we receive comments from donors assuming we are solely fundraising for Fares and his younger siblings in their twenties and thirties. However, there are also FIVE babies and young children in his extended family who urgently need help.

While we usually avoid sharing images of children as a practice informed by trauma sensitivity, we are making an exception at Fares’ request and with his consent due to the urgent and life-threatening circumstances.

Here’s a video of Fares’ nieces and nephews having fun and sitting on a blanket in his yard before his home was bombed. The children have grown since then, reducing the risk of recognition.

We’ve reached about 50% of our goal but still need more help.

We urgently need funds to evacuate Fares Abulebda, his younger siblings in their twenties and early thirties, AND his nieces and nephews to safety in Egypt.

Children in Need:
Saleh (1)
Fares (3)
Mahmoud (4)
Gada (6)
Yousef (7)

To our generous donors, your support means everything. Over 800 people, many facing financial challenges, have contributed. Your collective effort is making a huge impact.

Fares is a human rights advocate and teaches speech and language to deaf children and children with speech delays, from living under constant bombardment. Follow his journey and updates on Facebook, Instagram, or Medium.

**This week’s ASK: Everyone loves coffee and tea! Please ask 3 to 5 of your friends to donate this week’s worth of coffee ($25) directly here on GoFundMe, or contribute it to you and then to GoFundMe.**

As of this post, this campaign is 49% towards its goal. So if you want to help Fares’ nieces and nephews, feel free to donate and/or share.
