On December 20, 2024, Mustafa from Wear The Peace emailed me the following message:
Hi Sena,
I hope you had a blessed week. I wanted to reach out and let you know that today, December 20th, Wear The Peace made a donation of $10,000 to Helping Hand for Relief and Development to assist those suffering in Syria—on behalf of all of you.
Some of you may know that Wear The Peace was born after our 2014 visit to the Za’atari Refugee Camp in Jordan- the world’s largest camp for Syrian refugees. Ten years later and the Syrian cause is still near and dear to our hearts. The Za’atari refugee camp, at one point, had over 200,000 Syrian refugees. It became a permanent residency for many and we were able to revisit in 2022. Unfortunately, the same struggles we saw in 2022 were similar to those we witnessed 8 years prior.
There are over 6.5 million displaced Syrians within their own country and 90% of Syrians live under the poverty line. Today’s donation of $10,000 will aid displaced Syrian families with food and with winter aid.
I want to thank you for your continued support. It’s because of our Wear The Peace Family that we’re able to contribute to meaningful causes and help make a difference in the lives of others. Together, we continue to build a community rooted in compassion, justice, and empathy—with peace as our ultimate goal. Keep speaking for the oppressed.
Peace and love,
Mustafa
Anyway, I would like to further help out Syria by sharing these tours that I found on Civitatis, since I couldn’t find them on Viator.
Right now, Travel.state.gov has a travel advisory against going there, but hopefully, someday that will change
